Making A House, A Home

New House?

Empty Room?

Sowell's can help!

Simply bring your floor plan, the sizes of the furniture pieces to be used and any specific needs or goals you have for your room to the designers at Sowell's and let the work begin!

The homeowners of this featured home had specific requests that this room have areas for reading, for enjoying music and an intimate space for TV and movies.  All of this in addition to creating maximum seating!

After planning on paper with furniture templates, the room quickly took shape creating the requested areas.  Three focal points, including a grand piano, a fireplace and an entertainment center, were respected as the room was designed and then furnished with new upholstery pieces from Sowell's.

Colors of brown, red and gold were chosen for the upholstery to compliment the existing wall color.  A mixture of fabric textures and patterns created both an interesting and very inviting room setting.  A copper thread runs throughout the downstairs rooms and in this room the  copper really "popped" in the contemporary fabric on the armless chairs and sofa pillows.   The room was then completed with existing tables, lamps, favorite art and accessories.  Ownership to this new house really took place when the owners' travel collections and books were placed on the tabletops and their favorite Italian art was hung on the walls.

The chosen flatscreen cabinet provided plenty of space for a large screen flatscreen in addition to some tabletop accessories. The placement of the wall art surrounding the flatscreen complimented and softened the starkness and size of the flatscreen.   Also, notice the creative use of the original entertainment center in the corner of the room as it easily became a perfect display area for more favorite art and accessories.

This happy Sowell's customer now has more than a new house, they have a new home to enjoy they things they love!

This room was designed by Nancy, one of Sowell's in-store designers.

Leather Sofas is considered something highly luxurious.Today, there are lots of American homes that have Leather Sofas and then such rooms are converted into luxurious rooms.
